I don’t know about you guys, but I am OBSESSED with mascara. When people ask me what’s the one makeup product I need to have, it would be mascara. I just feel like without it I’m almost naked. In my makeup routine, it’s the last thing I apply and once I forgot to do it because I was in a rush and I don’t know why but I just felt naked. I ended up running out to Target to pick some up during lunch though so crisis avoided! I’ve tried so many different mascaras throughout the years – from high end to drugstore and everything in between. I’ll tell you that you don’t ever need to spend more than $20 on mascara because the best ones are way less than that!
My ultimate favorite is the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise. I feel like this mascara is the one that can do it all and does exactly what it says it does. It adds volume to your lashes and elongates them to perfection. I’ve seen a lot of people compare it to the Too Faced Better Than Sex, which I can understand because I used that one for a long time after it first came out. The one problem I had with Better Than Sex, was that it always left smudges under my eyes and that was a big no-no for me. I don’t have that problem with Lash Paradise.
I’ve been using it for over 6 months and I’ve never had smudges under my eyes while wearing it…except for when I’m crying, lol. If I had to own only one mascara and use it for the rest of my life, I would choose this one.
My second favorite is Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama. You could absolutely use this one on its own, but what I do is apply the Lash Paradise and then apply a coat of this over that. I’ve learned that every mascara offers a different benefit and combining mascaras gives you amazing results. The brush on this one is more conducive to separating your lashes so I’ll use it for that, and it does an amazing job giving your lashes even more length than you thought possible. It gives your lashes a nice curl and keeps it like that for the whole day.
My third favorite is the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Curve Alert. The brush is larger, and like the name suggests, curvier, than the other two. I’ll run this over my top lashes as a final coat, and this is usually the only other one I use on my bottom lashes. The larger brush really helps to add that final “oomph” to your lashes. I’ve been using this for almost 6 years and it has never done me wrong.
So these are my three holy grail mascaras. All of them can be found at your local CVS, Target, Walgreens, or supermarket for under $10!! That’s so much better than paying over $20 for the higher end mascaras. I highly recommend these and they’re the ones I’m repurchasing over and over again.
What are your top mascaras that can be found at the drugstore?
