There’s just something so therapeutic about putting on a face mask, isn’t there? Especially at the end of a day that might have not have been so great, pulling out my favorite face mask and letting it do it’s thing while I sit back and watch The Bachelor is one of my favorite things to do.
I’ve tried so many different face masks in my time, some were great, and some were not-so-great. But we all have our own personal “holy grail” products that we are obsessed with, don’t we? Well, I thought I would share the face masks that I consider to be my top performers. The ones that never do me wrong and leave my face 1000x better than it was when I put it on. I keep all of these on rotation for a multitude of skin issues, whether that’s acne, dullness, or dryness.
Glam Glow Clearing Treatment
This is the mask I use when I’m breaking out. It has charcoal as it’s main ingredient, and we all know that charcoal is amazing at getting all the dirt out of your pores. Another thing I love about it is that you can tell that it is working while it’s on your face. As the mask is drying and absorbing all the impurities, it will turn from black to green. You’ll look like a scary monster with it on, but it’s totally worth it, trust me!
I usually leave this on until I see my entire face is dried, and then leave it on for an additional 5-10 minutes, just to make sure it’s getting everything.
Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay
This healing clay mask is the least expensive one on this list, but man, does it pack a punch. I saw Jessie James Decker using this on Insta Stories and I basically just want to be her so I had to buy it. I bought mine from Whole Foods but you can get it on Amazon too – and it’s less than $10!! Another plus, is that you get so much product, one jar will last you such a long time. There’s 2 ways to use this mask 1) mix it with Apple Cider Vinegar to make it super powerful or 2) mix it with water if you have skin that’s a tad more sensitive. You’ll notice a difference in your skin pretty quickly, but make sure to keep your face moisturized after using it because it can be super drying.
Dr. Dennis Gross Clarifying Colloidal Sulfur Mask
This mask works like magic! I put this on before bed, probably like 3 times a week, leave it on overnight. When I wash it off in the morning I can see a noticeable difference in my skin. The pores on my nose are smaller, my face looks smoother and it helps to heal acne scars! If I see that my skin is starting to break out (mostly around that time of the month) I’ll start using this to stop those impurities in their tracks. The smell is not the best since it has sulfur in it, but that sulfur also kicks some serious butt, so I can deal with it. Can’t recommend this mask enough!
Murad Intensive – C Radiance Peel
Sometime I just like spend time Sephora and just peruse the different products they have. That’s how I discovered this face mask. It’s formulated to brighten and hydrate your skin – and oh boy, does it do just that! My skin is super oily and also super dry, so I’m always a little wary about what I use to hydrate my face, but I’ve noticed that this has helped control the oily areas.
Even though it has “peel” in the name, it is not harsh AT ALL! You get a very slight tingle when you first use it, but then you feel a cooling sensation when you wash it off. I usually leave it on overnight at least twice a week, so I’ve been doing that and I wake up with softer and brighter skin. My brother uses this too because he has super dry skin and it has literally worked miracles for him!
Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask
If you’re looking for a more natural mask, this one is right up your alley! It evens out your skin tone, exfoliates and gets rid of impurities, but is super gentle. The mask has kind of like a jelly texture that completely absorbs into your skin. It’s a great option for those who’s skin is more sensitive! After having this on for 30 minutes, your face will look plumped and glowy – like you just drank 5 gallons of water.
So there you have it – my favorite face masks. I’ve just realized I have a real thing for clay masks, too! All of these are linked below, as well as some of my other favorites that didn’t make the list.
What are your favorite face masks to use? Let me know in the comments, I’m always looking to try out new ones!
